IKA UNJ and Kaizen Collaborative Impact Equip MSMEs with Practical Skills to Leverage AI for Business Productivity
Jakarta, 26 September 2026 — The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly opening opportunities for entrepreneurs to simplify various business needs, from building a business presence in the digital space to assisting with administrative work. Recognizing this opportunity, the Universitas Negeri Jakarta Alumni Association (IKA UNJ) together with Kaizen Collaborative Impact equipped micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs with practical skills to leverage AI in supporting productivity and business development.

The training was carried out through a session titled “Kenali AI, Kenali Potensi Usaha: Tools Praktis untuk Produktivitas Bisnis” (Get to Know AI, Get to Know Your Business Potential: Practical Tools for Business Productivity), held in a hybrid format on Saturday, 26 September 2026, with an in-person session at Gedung SFD Lantai 10, Jakarta, and an online session via Zoom Meeting.
This activity is part of AIM ASEAN (AI for MSME Advancement in ASEAN), a regional program initiated by the ASEAN Foundation together with Google.org, AVPN, and ADB to improve the digital skills of MSME entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia.
For PP IKA UNJ, the use of AI is part of entrepreneurs' need to adapt to changes in the way business is done. Bagus Wahyu Trianto, Chair of the activity's organizing committee and also a member of the PP IKA UNJ Board in the Business Development division, said that entrepreneurs need to start seeing AI as a tool that can support business work more efficiently.
“The use of AI is no longer just a trend, but a strategic step for operational automation, market analysis, and improving business efficiency and competitiveness in the future,” said Bagus Wahyu Trianto.
This activity is part of the efforts of the PP IKA UNJ Business Network Development division, led by Yus Octavia, to encourage entrepreneurial capacity development among alumni and entrepreneurs. Through educational and skills development activities, IKA UNJ aims to provide a space for entrepreneurs to understand technological change and consider its application to their business needs.
Scam Ready ASEAN Comes to UNY, Kaizen Collaborative Impact Promotes Inclusive Digital Anti-Scam Education
Students, lecturers, education staff, and participants with visual disabilities learn to recognize, prevent, and respond to scams through interactive discussions and the Be Scam Ready simulation.
Meanwhile, in this session, Kaizen Collaborative Impact brought a learning approach that places hands-on practice as part of the AI adoption process. Participants were not only introduced to the functions of various tools, but were also invited to try how the technology can be used to address business needs.

Meanwhile, in the online session, together with Mas Zulchaidir Ashary as an AIM ASEAN Master Trainer, participants were introduced to the use of Gemini to help process business administrative data. One of the practices carried out was converting photos of operational expense receipts into table data that could then be used to draft financial reports. This practice provided an illustration of how AI can help reduce repetitive administrative work and speed up the process of processing business information.
Although it offers various conveniences, the training also emphasized the importance of the human role in using AI. Participants were reminded not to directly use AI-generated results without checking them. In financial report processing, for example, business owners still need to re-verify the figures and categories produced before the information is used to make business decisions.
In addition to the use of AI, participants were also invited to understand the importance of building a business identity and credibility in the digital space. Basic information such as a phone number and a clear operational address, as well as the use of Google Business Profile, are part of efforts to make businesses easier to find and access by consumers online.
Through an approach that combines understanding and hands-on practice, IKA UNJ and Kaizen Collaborative Impact encourage MSME entrepreneurs to see AI not merely as a new technology, but as a tool that can be used to simplify work and support business development. At the same time, the ability to check, understand, and use AI results responsibly remains an important part of the technology adoption process.
